Once again, another Nigerian has done his country proud. His name is Jelani Aliyu.
“New York, US, 01/24 – A Nigerian, Jelani Aliyu, has recorded a major breakthrough in the automotive industry in the US, with the design of a state-of-the-art electric car.“Chevy Volt”, described as an “American Revolution”, was designed by Aliyu at the US-based world`s largest automaker, General Motors (GM) plant in Detroit.A statement issued in New York by GM Tuesday, stated: “GM`s most electrifying advanced technology vehicle is the Chevrolet Volt concept, a battery-powered, extended-range electric passenger vehicle”.

While Mr. Aliyu is still basking in his glory, a debate has started on whether Nigerian Engineers are smarter than their American counterparts. Just because of one man, a debate has started. Wonders will never end. Anyway, let us hear you view here.
And just in case you want to be the next prodigy of the same institution that Mr. Jelani Aliyu attended, the Center for Creative studies (CCS), kindly contact the department of your choice for enrollment. I particularly love their webpage, the way it just changes like the screensaver of my PC.

Nigerians are blessed and distinguished in their endeavors. Really intelligent and talented people, showing off unusual skill and talent at what they do. Little wonder, it’s jocularly said that “the world has whites, blacks and Nigerians.” Isn’t it funny? I just wish intelligence and skill could be applied positively by all Nigerians just like some have done already.

Aliyu is favoured, but by Allah only.
Nigeria is quick to claim as their own one who has distinguished himself without any help whatsoever from the quality of the services provided by the entity called Nigeria. Meaning; Nigeria did not contribute in any way to his achievement. This has been the trend in recent times; From Hakeem Olajuwon, Chimamanda, Seal, Asa, to Aliyu. Funny how we struggle to deny Farouk and retain his father.
Go ahead Aliyu, but while you are at it, Pray for our dear abused Naija.

Why would someone think that Africans are stupid in the first place? Why? Such a thought is not only very immature but also gullible! It shows the degree of efficiency and soundness of the brain of such a person and I am not surprised such is coming from a certain quarter simply because they are white! For God sake, there is nothing to show a supremacy of white over black in this context, after all we were all created by the same Supreme Being, God! By the way, when compared with apes and chimpanzees, I am sorry, the whites resemble them more and that is why they stink whenever you get close to them! But if not for deodorants and perfumes,…Anyway, Charles Darwin, a white has said it all, so all I have said is predicated on what a fellow white as you Eddy Jawed!
Good job, Jelani, more powers to your elbows and certainly, you have yet to begin your success story because this is just a tip of the iceberg.

JELANI ALIYU is indeed a model to Nigerian and insprations to our youth, but yet nothing good enough to honour him from our govt. Simply becouse he is not among the political bamfires but a talented person from the politics of inventing. More so we are calling on our govt to named the fed govt house (presidency) JELANI ALIYU, we are also calling on our fellow youth to keep away from any political gangstars in the name of so called helping the nation and copy from the great talented son of our nation, JELANI ALIYU. This shows that God can make a genius out of everybody inrespective of ur religion, race or geographical location. To God be the glory!
You are gullible fools
November 14, 2011
Nigerians – please stop embarrasing yourselves by believing something so ridiculous. A single engineer does not design a car. Jelani Aliyu is one of MANY engineers who worked on the Chevy Volt, and his contribution is relatively small. His work is limited to the shape of the exterior of the vehicle. He did none of the difficult engineering required to make the vehicle functional. Yes, he did a good job, but quit patting yourselves on the back as if you had anything to do with it. Nigeria is a disaster of a nation because YOU who remain in Nigeria refuse to do anything about your corrupt government and corrupt culture. You accept things the way they are and pretend it is the fault of white men. Grow up and become men yourselves instead of scam artists, racists, and lazy good-for-nothings. Get an education and sacrifice for your country. You have huge oil deposits and other natural resources, but you do not have success, because your dishonest culture does not deserve success. Change yourselves so you can change your government and your country. Then you will not have to cling to false stories about how a single Nigerian invented an American automobile in order to feel good about yourselves.

Allah’s Will must prevail! I’m really delighted as well as encouraged by the achievements of Jelani. The children of Adam have indeed come a long way inhabitting almost all the humanly habitable areas of the world. Science, engineering and technology have facilitated our togetherness such that we refer to planet earth as our global village! Fellow Nigerians need to understand that talents abound everywhere(God is ever Generous). The only thing remaining is to have the enabling environment, a fact the Americans understood long ago and tirelessly strive to provide. And, there you have the brains and talents of the world like Jelani naturally trooping into America to achieve great things!
SO, WHEN WILL WE BE DONE AWAY WITH ALL THE CORRUPTION AND RAT RACE TO MAKE NIGERIA THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT TO RETAIN AND ATTRACT THE BRAINS AND TALENTS?

Do not estimate the powers of HUMANS in respective of race…..human beings have high and powerful tissue like organ (called brain) hidden in their head…..and it is not inferior to that of the whites…so, if people from the other world can do wonders we in africa can equally do that with passions. More grease to Jelani and his like……..
