I was dazed as if I have never read that part of the Bible before when somebody drew my attention to what Cain – the first murderer in the Bible – said after God had banished him from the land and cursed him for killing his younger brother.

“And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him” (Genesis 4:13-15 KJV).

Although he was not repentant for what he has done, he still dared to tell God that his punishment is too great because everyone that sees him will want to kill him. You know what? God obliged him. God placed a mark on him that no man will be able to kill him.

Wow, if an unrepentant murderer got a seal of protection from God simply because he dared to ask, how much more His Calvary-ransomed blood-washed children.. God will certainly do much more if only we dare to ask.

Since that day, it dawned on me that since I have a more justified standing before God by the blood of Jesus than Cain, I am entitled to more of divine protection, guidance, prosperity, inspiration, wisdom, health and every good thing that God if only I can ask. This also applies to you if you are a child of God. The Bible said, “….. ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:24 KJV).
