Please, Blogville, is it NiGeria or NiJeria!

I believe the correct pronounciation of our country’s name is Nigeria, with the “G” letter/pronounciation expressly defined: G.

I also believe that not all news-readers / broadcasters on the Nigerian TV screen are Northerners. We understand the Northern/ers pronounciation of ‘G’ is ‘J’ ,which is very wrong – no apologies.

Now, I wonder why all of them(news-casters everywhere – TV/radio) like saying niJeria, with the “J” letter / pronounciation……instead of niGeria.

Is this a public speaking bruhaha or what exactly.

I think its sickening hearing: niJeria, NiJeria.
