I arrived at the title of this post last week Tuesday as I viewed the picture below. This picture graced the front page of the Nigerian Guardian Newspapers. I had purchased a copy and was glancing through after work. The first question that crossed my mind, which honestly, I don’t have an answer for is:
how many wives does President Yar’Adua have?
I am imagining someone asking me one day: ‘how many wives does your President have?’ and I won’t be able to give a definite and sure answer. If ‘honest to goodness’ follows each other, I really don’t know……considering that our former Mr. President didn’t hide his circle of legal wives, illegal wives, kids and extended family members……which is part of being a politician.
Please, if you have information on the above question, leave your answer in the comments section.
My second problem is with the caption on the picture which says:
President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua (right), his wife, Turai (second right), wife of the Vice President Patience (left), the VP Goodluck Jonathan; bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda and his new wife, Nasifa, during the wedding reception of Yuguda and Nasifa at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja…..at the weekend.
It might just be normal journalism / plain English, but it sounds to me like there is an old wife somewhere….
Is there? anyone with info, pls holla back.

That governor already has 3 wives. Nafisat is the 4th. On the president, he officially has one, he had a second wife at a point but she was dismissed by the first wife.

The issue of how many wives does Mr President have does not suppose to be our own problem. The issue of basic amenities suppose to be our major priority rather than going to a place that does not concern us. Leave the man alone or if you need any information for him while don’t you go to ASO ROCK and ask him that kind of question. I have it on wikipedia that Turai is actually the “only” wife of President Yar Adua, married to him since 1975 with seven children, (5 females and two males). Yar Adua married a second wife in 1992 (she bore him two male children) but has since been divorved from him since 1997. So to answer your question, the president has only one wife, though he has an ex-wife (which i dont think (my unconfirmed thought) is married to another man yet)
