As a Nigerian, hypertension is the next thing you will develop if you continue thinking about all the political turmoil in this country, I believe Eedris Abdulkareem told us the truth with his song Nigeria Jagajaga.
Nigeria jagajaga
Everything scatter scatter
Poor man dey suffer suffer
Gbosa, gbosa, gun shot inna de air
If “Jagajaga” was a positive word, where we are presently as a nation is worse than Jagajaga. I was in a bank the other day watching their TV while I was being attended to. I saw pitiful scenes from the recent Jos crisis, as dead bodies were dumped on by one into mass-graves, and those that lifted the bodies did so with their noses covered, etc., as if they were packing feaces.

The picture above on the left is taken from The Times of Nigeria Newspapers. Its caption unfortunately said: The burnt bodies of a Christian Mother and her child in the Jos massacre of Christians by Muslims. Over 500 Christian villagers were killed.
While listening to the 7a.m news broadcast from Inspiration FM, I heard Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State laying the blame for the crisis on the Nigerian Military. According to him, his own security operatives told him around 9p.m that some suspicious people were crossing into the Jos border. Jang said he took his phone and “personally called and spoke to the Army Commander” of his state at least 3-hours before the mayhem began. By around midnight when hell broke loose, the Military was nowhere to be found. 3-hours after the mayhem the army just started showing up. The Nigerian Army in Jos could not respond to security calls within 6-hours and yet we call ourselves a nation?
Yesterday, a friend of mine told me of how he got robbed last week along the Lagos Ibadan expressway, in a fashion similar to the ongoing post: Horror along the Lagos Benin expressway. My friend was with others in a 14-seater bus and thought they arrived at a police-checkpoint. The driver stopped the vehicle, and while the Nigerian Police uniform clad armed robber inspected the vehicle, 4-other masked guys emerged from the bushes and asked everyone to disembark. They were asked to lie down face flat at the center of the road, and all their belongings were collected. The bus was searched and soon the armed robbers drove off in the opposite direction in a Jeep parked inside the bushes. When the victims gathered their composure, the driver started the bus again and moved. My guy said that within a 5-minute drive, they approached another police-checkpoint. They narrated their ordeal to these Police officers, who only laughed, told them to thank God they are alive and apologized that their cars didn’t have enough fuel, so they could not pursue after the armed robbers. These victims had to park and wait with these officers until other buses approached the scene and they towed after each other until reaching Lagos.
A Nigerian born today knows that the Nigerian Police are the most irresponsible in the security crew. When the army now joins them with indifference and irresponsibility, I believe we can only say that the end is near for us as a Nation. Unfortunately, even new born babies are subjected to torturous death by fire, in a country where they are born into.

Sometime ago, I asked the question: how many wives does President Yar Adua have? My reason for asking, apart from the newspaper clip in the post was that it looked to me, just my observation, that this Turai Yar Adua woman (someone called her Thuraya Yar Adua on a radio station) ran her own show apart from Mr. President. I just felt she wasn’t playing the wifey: I-gat-my husbands-back role very well.
Since President Yar Adua has taken ill, she has assumed the role of Mr. President. She does not allow people to see him(as reported in newspapers), dishing out orders left and right – “this is what the President said”; calling the shots: even asking Mr. Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to come and see her….blah blah blah.
With all her political ambitions, the latest is that she realizes that her First Lady position might soon be vacant, so shes trying to play referee: the two First Lady daughters of Mr. Sick President of Nigeria are fighting over which of their husbands should become Vice-President.
The return of Umaru Yar’Adua in a vegetative state, with the reality of his not being able to ever function as president, has set two of his daughters, Zainab and Nafisatu, both married to sitting governors ,at war path over whose husband will be vice president to Acting President Goodluck Jonathan. The former is married to Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Usman Dakingari, while the later is fourth wife to Bauchi Governor, Isa Yuguda.
Sources close to the Yar’Adua family told pointblanknews.com Thursday night that since reality has dawned on their mother, Turai, is set to anoint either Yuguda or Dakingari as a VP candidate that would protect the interest of the family.
It was however learnt that Turai is more disposed to Yuguda considering his role during the drama. He was in Saudi Arabia, and was later in the US to, aside from be by his wife’s side that recently gave birth, he was also scouting for a hospital that could provide better service for his father-in-law. As for Dakingari, he is seen by turai as laid back, but our source said that his wife, Zainab, is the apple of Turai’s eye.
Both Yuguda and Dakingari are among those on the list of PDP hopefuls for the coveted office of vice president
Pointblanknews.com further gathered that in the last few days Turai has been speaking with her kids, and some top brass of the PDP concerning who works with Acting President, Goodluck Jonathan as VP She has told the PDP she would submit a name soon, but the disagreement between Zainab and Nafisatu is delaying the move..
Presidency in Nigeria has become a family affair. So until the Yar Adua daughters decide amongst themselves, Nigeria would not move forward? Wahala dey o, big time. This also means that whoever wins the battle presently would have to pay-back the other party in the future: Nigeria is still under captivity so to say.
So where do we end this?
Nigeria Jagajaga!
Nigerian Army Jagajaga
Yar Adua family Jagajaga!
