Wahala dey for this Lagos o. NEPA was so gracious this morning and everything was quiet until sounds of war started from my neighbors neighbors house – I mean about 2-houses away. On my way out this morning, I heard the full gist from other neighbors: “all names here are completely fictional for the purpose of this gossip”
Bimpe, the daughter of Baba and Mama Bimpe is pregnant. Who is the culprit? Their(Bimpe’s family) landlord, Oga Landlord who lives upstairs. The revelation that Oga Landlord is the culprit came about last week – after Bimpe’s parents almost grilled the life out of her. Baba Bimpe is totally confused on the next step to take. Mama Bimpe, a popular church-woman, always preaching to whomever she comes across is in a state of shock. What is she going to say to all the people who had seen her carrying Bible everywhere? Oga Landlord, when he was approached for confirmation or denial didn’t deny his act. In fact, Oga landlord was found to have been sowing his seeds in so many available “places”, and Bimpe is his latest plot of land, where Oga landlord’s seed is 2-months old. Whatever his reason for such an act was, he sure the hell knows.
Mama Bimpe: It would have been better if it was “one boy somewhere” who impregnated their daughter and not their landlord, a married man whose wife lives outside Lagos. Landlord ke, someone elsés husband, sege damboroba. Itiju ti ba somebody.
The problem this morning was that the Landlord went to hire police officers to come and chase out Bimpe and her parents. What did they do? according to Oga Landlord, they owe him 6-months rent. So police officers, and some area boys arrived to do their thing early in the morning. While they were at it, neighbors gathered together against the police boys, their contracted agberos and demanded they stop immediately. By the time the police got information about Oga landlord’s sexual activities in the neighborhood, another wahala started all together.
===> What Bimpe’s father has been asking for is that Oga landlord should give him more time to pay the rent. Oga landlord has said “no more time”.
===> Concerned neighbors are more concerned about Oga Landlord’s promiscuisity in the neighborhood, the current preggy-situation of Bimpe – and the rent issue is a small matter. According to Baba Tinu, “for the fact that Bimpe is currently pregnant, Oga Landlord should have had enough shame and remorse and forget the rent issue for now. What is he going to do about Bimpe“? What pisses the neighbors off is that this “useless Oga landlord” shows no remorse. “It would have been better he went after prostitutes“, than the daughter of his own tenant.
===> The police boys are more interested in doing their job for which they are expecting payment from Oga Landlord. According to the police boys, Bimpe’s pregnancy doesn’t concern them. Their interest is that Baba Bimpe hasn’t paid his rent.
What is really funny to me was that this Oga landlord found it in himself to demand his rent from a tenant whose daughter is currently in preggy-mode because he couldn’t zip up his belt and let a mini skirt pass by.
Is this a simple error in judgment or Oga landlord has a real problem upstairs.
p.s: Oga landlord’s first two kids are in the University, while the third is Bimpe’s agemate.

This issue here is very sensitive so we have to handle it with a matured reasoning.
Before this we have to consider the following :
1. What Age is the pregnant girl, is she a minor ?
2. Was it a case of rape or based on mutual understanding between the both parties irrespective of age?
3. Did the girl report the case to anybody (parent) before it came to the open?
The above factors has to be taken care of before we can have a true picture of this case .
If I cant get answers to the above question I may not be in the right position to make a fruitful contribution to this matter

This is a simple case:
1. The Landlord must not only forfeit the outstanding rent but must also give Bimpe and her parents free accommodation until the unborn child is 18 years old.
2. Mama Bimpe must be given 12 strokes of the cane daily for 3 months for not bringing up her daughter well.
3. Baba Bimpe must be given 12 strokes of the cane daily for 3 months for marrying Mama Bimpe in the first place
2. The Police men should be made redundant as they obviously dont have enough work. They can then set up their own private rent collecting service.
4. The area boys should be shot on the spot.
5. When the baby is 18 years old, the Landlord should be shot.
6. The owner of this blog is also sentenced to a daily dose of 2 bowls of Nkwobi and 2 big guinness for the next 6 months.
