It was nothing less than dismay and total shock in Mushin, Lagos state as residence of Sonde Street, Ijeshatedo gathered to have a glimpse of the unbecoming. A baby boy born at a white garment church was said to have carried a miniature Holy Quran at birth.

“When my baby was delivered holding a Quran in his hand, the nurse said the Quran should be thrown away. But I insisted my mother must see it before any action could be taken,” Kikelomo, who is a Christian, further explained.
Corroborating the story, Senior Rev. Victoria Yetunde Dada said during the pregnancy, Kikelomo was always coming to her for prayers and counselling.
“I advised her not to abort the pregnancy because she might die in the process. Again, I told her the foetus was sent by God and will be great,” Apostle Mother Dada told our correspondent. Controversy has continued to trail the seemingly spurious claim.
Reacting, Medical Director of Bodet Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Bode Tawak said scientifically, it was not possible for a baby to be born holding a Quran.
“How big is the baby’s hand to hold the Quran? How big is the Quran? How did the Quran get into her mother’s womb? I don’t know how a Quran can get into a womb. But there are things you can’t explain,” Dr. Tawak responded. He said while the incident cannot be explained medically, in Nigeria many mysterious things happen. A Kaduna-based medical practitioner, Dr. Munir Yusuf said from a medical point of view, it was not possible, but added that depending on the size of the Quran, it was possible metaphysically.
He explained that if the Quran is small enough to pass through the diameter of the vagina, with the child, it is possible. In the same vein, a herbal medicine practitioner, Chief Dr. Bola Adegunloye believes nothing is impossible, but said too much importance must not be placed on the incident. source: click here
Unfortunately, commenters at the picsource have turned the situation into religious Christian vs boko-haram bashing: the difference between Allahu Akbar and Jesus is Lord.
The main issue is: why should a baby be born, clutching a miniature Quran inside a white-garment assumed Christian church?
Nobody has asked the question:
- Is this miniature Quran a real miniature book?
- is it paper?, has anybody opened it to see whats there?
- or is it a metal object?
- or something else – solidified vaginal excess, looking like a Quran?
- perhaps the Quran was inserted into mommy’s VG before birth,
- perhaps it was swallowed a long time ago and ended up in her womb.
Supposedly looking metalic, how did the baby and this object survive together? What about rust. or was this Quran ceramic?
Isn’t someone trying to take us on a Holy Ride?
Or perhaps since its a boy, has Prophet Mohammed has been re-incarnated in order to set Islam right?
Some Christians believe in re-incarnation, what does the Quran say about this? Why Nigeria for that matter?

Considering that in Nigeria we have all sorts of babies born almost on a monthly basis, whatever they are clutching shouldn’t be an issue. We have them plenty:

No, I did not write to make ridicule of any religion. Yes, Lagos is gaga over the news, and thats is why I added my own piece. In fact, Im happy the baby was born in Lagos. If it was in the North, it would have been another story. Our boko brothers would have used the opportunity to throw some fire-crackers in the name of God.
Do you know how many columnists have written a whole dictionary about the news? Search google and read up. Do you know how many people have been thronging the church and the house of the parents – saying they want to see the baby, they want to see the Quoran? Even the nurses who delivered the baby have become celebrities overnight? why? strange baby was born and they(nurses) saw it.
90% of these people who have visited the baby are not interested in the welfare of the child and mother. If each of them dropped 5-naira each, the baby might have like 500-thousand naira cash presently. Rich baby. Their visit wont buy milk and cerelac. Quoran or no Quoran, where will the child get an education. These visitors are just interested in some religious ideology to satisfy their ego.
Is that what we need as a nation? The rest of the world are moving forward, we are going backwards, debating religion. Is there electricity in the baby’s house? No. Is there light and water? No. does this baby have the basic necessities of life apart from loving parents? No. And here we are throwing punches and convincing ourselves that God is showing us a sign. Which sign? for where?
All the signs God has been showing since 1960, where are they? who has seen it? when we saw the signs, what have we done with it? Ok, so baby born with Quoran big deal: does this put food on anybody’s table? No. Allahu Akbar 1-million times a day, does this solve the problems of the nation and its people? No.
Suppose the baby was born with a Buddhish looking object, would we be having this conversation? No. If the baby was born with something satanic looking, and in big letters “ESHU”, won’t you call the baby a devil? why isnt that a sign from God too? Would that be a sign for you?
If such a baby were born in America, do you think anybody will say Allahu Akbar or God is Great? Does Obama have dat time?

Muslims are not “them” to me. They are my brothers and sisters. They are my uncles and aunts. They are my own flesh and blood. They are my cousins, nephews and nieces. Yes, we bear the same surnname. We have the same parents, grandparents etc. We descended from the same lineage. We go to the village at the same time, we travel abroad together, we party together. Yes, we live in the same house, we grew up together, went to the same primary, secondary and University. Its not only Muslims that attend Ansar U deen. I did, and I am a Christian.
Oh, Yes we grew up wearing ankoo, and we still do: on Sunday and Friday. I go the the mosque and they come to Church. I will defend them regardless of what / who they believe in. They would do the same for me. The fact that we are family members is supreme.
I hope you remember that God first created the family, not religion. That is what life is about, Tunde. That is the expectation of God almightly. When fellow Christians who you should love with all your heart become “them” to you, O boy, you are on the edge of the hill – about to fall over. If Christians are your “them them”, how about buddhists, atheists, pagans, etc.
Example: all the foreigners that are in Nigeria, are they Christians or Muslims? No. Do you see them in the Mosque? No. In the church? No. Have you ever seen or heard of 2-Chinese men fighting themselves either because they come from different parts of China or because they believe in different Gods? No.
There are over 3,000(three thousand Gods in India). Read the previous line again: 3,000. Meaning, in a family of 6, each member of the family can believe in 1-God each. Do you see them fighting over which God is greater than which other God? Do you see their Christians at war with Muslims and viceversa? While we have a baby born with a Quoran, they have babies with 6legs like an octopus – kept in a Museum. Do they care?
Go to the airport and see how Nigerians are running to India everyday for all sorts of things: education, business, etc. The ones in Naija, dont you see that they live a better life, they love themselves, they succeed in their businesses and personal endeavors more that we(Christians and Muslims) who convince ourselves that we are going to Heaven and Paradise?
While we are busy doing North and South; PDP and AC; Yoruba Hausa and Igbo, Tiwa n Tiwa; Tiwon Tiwon, they are living abroad in Nigeria, making big money. Shame. Why is their God blessing them and our God not blessing us? answer me? Is it Jesus that is blessing them or Prophet Mohammed that is prospering them? Who is their prophet?

The news of a baby born with a holy book in his hand would have been true if the child had come with a copy of the Bible especially since he was born in a Church. How can anything ISLAM be true in this part of the country where that religion is virtually an abomination? The truth in Nigeria must only wear the colour of Christianity particularly as presented by our fanatical Press. Anything different must surely be a big lie. After all, the apparition on the window of a private house in Ikoyi, Lagos, in 1986 which attracted thousands of Christians and turned the house into an emergency tourist center was true according to Nigerian Press because the figure in the apparition was said to be Mary the mother of Jesus. Karl Max who described religion as the opium of the people was right after all.

Hajji, on a more sober and serious note, i asked so many questions. U have only answered one. By the way, it is false to say islam is the only religion to assign monogamy. Though the bible did not say polygamous men are grievous sinners, it did emphasize that 1 man and one wife was the original plan and it encouraged it as the ideal form of marriage. Christ said in mathew 19:3-6 he that created them in the beginning created them male n female (not females) he also said that the 2 will become one (not the 3, not the 4, not the 5, will become one). The 10th commandment said though shalt not covet your neighbors wife(not wives). The bible forbids polygamy among religious leaders (timothy 3: 2). The apostle paul in the bible said EACH MAN should have his OWN wife and EACH WOMAN should have her OWN HUSBAND (1st corinthians 7: 2). God also said political leaders and kings should not be polygamist -the consequence being that the women ll turn the man’s heart from the lord. (deutronomy 17:17) though the bible did not say polygamist are grievous sinners, it clearly discouraged it. I have no problem with muhammad or muslims being polygamist, what i said is he had way more than 4 at a time and told others to have maximum of 4- a leader should lead by example.

Why are we talking about God like we are his equals? Weda na Christianity or Islam or Judaism or budaism or whatever let God be the judge. While our religious and political leaders are misleading us, boko haram are busy killing millions, After stealing from ourselves, lying, cheating each other we will still open de same mouth callin ourselves Christians nd Muslims, ye ye people. Y are Nigerians so gullible? In most countries ur religion is ur business, but here everybody dey form number one and nobody is even practising what their religion says. if the world ends today 99% of people in this country will probably go hell. Let us pray to God for forgiveness and help, and that our children will not end up like us instead of disturbing ourselves every time things like this occur, especially when everything could be false. The lesson here should be that God is great and he exist. Just because a baby was born with six arms in India doesn’t mean we should all start practising Hinduism and this case is no different. May God help us

@Renaissance you are judging the actions of Prophet Muhammad (Sal) by man made laws or how man works instead of the Divine law of Allah or how Allah works. this is especially in reply to your 4th comment on here. you follow how men who do not not believe in Allah use their brain and in truth they are only conjectures. these men do not believe that humans just like everything on earth and in the heavens are created by one being, Allah, thus will use his brain to support the illusion of life on earth being the only life there is, there not being a judgement day. if you miss out on these important points then you are not seeing clearly that you are a creation, a servant of Allah when Allah shows you this in various forms that can only be understood through reflections, thinking and pondering on the creation of Allah even yourself but instead you choose to be deaf blind and thus one can become dumb speaking just conjectures. you must remember that just because, most people have opinions, it doesn’t mean that we have the right to opinions. who are we to have such a right? the only truth that every human will ever need to know is in the Qur’an and the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (Sal). it is not foolish to believe in Allah, @Rennaiance. it doesn’t make you stupid unlike what these unbelievers propagate, it makes you intelligent. don’t live only for this dunya. you judge by what feels right that you and other humans feel too such as killing another human being is a sin, drinking alcohol should be avoided because it intoxicates thus is harmful to man, where does this knowledge come from? it is only from Allah because He naturally created us knowing what is right and wrong but with all these unbelievers in the world who destroy truth with falsehood and their misformulated opinions, we believe it is ok to formulate our own opinions just because we were given a brain. what right have we? we are just gonna be misleading ourselves from the straight path of Allah and driving ourself to hell if our opinions are not based on knowledge from the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad (Sal)’s sunnah and from knowledge and wisdom that Allah reveals to us when we sincerely seek His guidance in this dunya and to understand His divine laws and workings. all works in this dunya are in vain if one doesn’t believe in Allah, even scientific works. everything in this dunya are signs from Allah that are meant to bring us to the truth that there is no god but Allah. we are only here in dunya to wake up to the truth by reflecting on the dunya if we aren’t awake. then believe in Allah and that the true religion is islam and the Qur’an is a confirmation of all that has been revealed in the injil, torah, psalms etc. and that prophet Muhammad (Sal) is Allah’s last messenger, the seal of the prophets, and then doing righteous deeds. then we die we are brought back to life again on the day of judgement and we meet Allah for His final Judgement on what we used to do in this life. remember everything in this dunya is a sign/witness from/of Allah even how we are able to judge people, give tests in schools, universities, be kind and merciful to fellow human beings and animals, provide food and shelter for the poor and homeless, how a person is given a kingdom to rule as a king, how a person can intervene in another person’s life through his actions either to the destruction or relief of that person, the subtlety by which a friend/parent guides in order to not cause distress or bring attention to his/her action, love from parents, the attention a friend gives when we talk to him/her of our sorrows, hardships, these are all attributes of Allah. so no matter where you look you can see Allah. even though He remains unseen in this world doesn’t mean He does not exist. Allah says in the Qur’an in response to the unbelievers who have differed in their beliefs that Allah could have just guided them to the truth making us all one nation, one religion or settled their difference once and for all through punishment for the people who made up false attributions to Allah but that is not what He had decreed. we were all born in fitrah, the natural state of man to worship only one God thus we are all born as muslims, but man’s parents make him a Jew, Christian or a Zoroastrian, quoting a hadith here. why follow the religion of christianity or judaism when it isn’t even logical to associate sons with Allah who is All-Sufficient, free of needs and whose followers call Him father, when He begets not nor was He begotten. isn’t it sufficient to take the word of Allah as truth as He is the truth? and alhamdulillaah the truth is in the Quran that’s why Allah sent it as a guidance to all mankind, christians and jews because their books now and even then, although had been revealed in truth by Allah to the corresponding prophets and conveyed to the people in truth, mischievous people following their own desires seeing fit to call Jesus the son of God when he never said that recorded the books with lies in them. believe that Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was guided by Allah and his actions were guided by Allah, if you cannot understand ask Allah to help you understand, him having more wives than a muslim man can have is befitting to a Prophet of Allah who only calls people to the truth. who can then be the best of mankind, except a prophet of Allah and especially Prophet Muhammad (Sal) who was sent as a mercy and guidance for mankind by Allah? if you can’t love, sympathize with Prophet Muhammad (Sal) you can not separate a human that embodies mercy, kindness, pity from the whole of mankind and even acknowledge the wisdome of Allah, who is All-Wise, to choose Prophet Muhammad (Sal) as His messenger.. Astaghfirullah.. a hadith that confirms how full of mercy Prophet Muhammad (Sal) is: “Every Prophet had a well-responded prayer to Allah and mine I like to keep till the Day of Resurrection when I would intercede with Allah for my nation.” Alhamdulillaah.. on the note of buddhists, how is buddhism a religion but not centered around belief in Allah. why is it a religion then? its followers must be worshipping themselves then. they aren’t people in the scripture, it is not a religion of God.
