The forbidden fruit tastes best, so the more conservative a congregation, the more things like this are likely. Those “pastors” are skilful manipulators who use their position of power to prey on the vulnerable, Blaming the victims only proves that one does not understand the dynamics of the situation at all. Reminds me of the recent scandal involving one of the most influential worldwide leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Samuel Koranteng-Pipim, who admitted to having sex with a girl more than 30 years his junior while visiting Botswana. He only did so after the poor girl found the courage to say what happened. It appears that the “pastor” raped his innocent victim twice after luring her into his hotel to collect a CD of his sermons.
